Jessica Hitchcock In the novel The Hunger Games written by Suzanne Collins, the main reference (and the character we can learn from) is 16 yr overage Katniss Everdeen. Katniss Everdeens life changes when she is forced to leave behind her free district and family to fight against separate teenagers in the hunger games. She changes as a character by maturing into someone with survival and government agency smart instincts, and she learns to train her mind to focus on things that she shied foregone from before she was picked to go into the hunger games. What she decides to do, instead of playing by the Capitols rules and sidesplitting Peeta, she defies the Capitols rules and makes them look like fools on their own turf.
